Protecting Minors
Halifax Casino is for players 19 and up only. Age is checked before we take a deposit, and an account belonging to a minor is shut immediately.
A. 19+ only
Anyone under 19 is barred from registering, depositing or betting with us. This applies to all slots, table games and live casino titles. Adults may not open or fund an account on behalf of an underage person.
B. If we find a minor
When we discover a minor under 19 on our site, we respond at once:
- the account is shut straight away
- every bet is cancelled and all winnings are forfeited
- all deposits are refunded to their original payment method
- the details are blocked from opening a new account
Adults who let a minor under 19 use their account are breaching our Terms of Use and will lose that account as well.
C. How we check age
Age checks run at several points, not just once:
- At sign-up, you enter your birth date and we refuse anyone under 19.
- Before your first deposit, we match your details with trusted identity services and confirm your location.
- If a match is unclear, the account stays on hold until we receive a driver's licence or passport.
- If later signs suggest a minor may be playing, we run the checks again and pause the account until they are complete.

D. Shared devices at home
A laptop or tablet shared at home can make it easy for a young person to reach your account. A few simple steps close that gap:
- log out after every session
- stop your browser from storing your Halifax Casino password
- lock every phone and computer using a fingerprint, PIN or password
- on a shared computer, make sure every child logs in under a profile of their own
- store your e-wallet sign-in info and payment cards where kids cannot reach them
